Tarka in Sadanga Yoga Wrhaspati Tattwa: The Construction of Spiritual Reasoning in the Balinese Hindu Tradition

The Tarka in Sadanga Yoga from the Wrhaspati Tattwa represents an important form of spiritual reasoning and contemplation in the Balinese Hindu tradition. This study aims to analyze the meaning, position, and construction of Tarka as a form of spiritual reasoning in the stages of Sadanga Yoga, especially as a stage towards Samadhi. This study uses a qualitative method using library research approaches and philosophical hermeneutics, without involving respondents or informants. The data are primarily derived from the text of the Wrhaspati Tattwa and are supported by relevant scientific literature, which is critically examined and analyzed through interpretive content analysis. The findings suggest that Tarka serves as a contemplative reflection that connects inner concentration with an understanding of the supreme reality. These findings affirm Tarka as an epistemological construct that integrates reason, contemplation, and orientation towards spiritual liberation in Balinese Hindu tradition.
